Interlaken holiday region

The Schynige Platte has stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. This majestic trio of mountain peaks is perhaps best admired from the circular trail that is approx. six kilometer long. After that, a short stroll through the alpine botanical garden featuring more than 720 species of mountain plants is always a treat. If you’re lucky, your garden stroll may even be accompanied musically by the sound of alphorn players.

The Niederhorn boasts more than 120 kilometer of hiking trails, with spectacular views of the Alps and Lake Thun as a constant companion. The region is also famous as a paradise for wild animals. Guided tours to spot the wildlife take visitors to see sizeable ibex colonies, chamois and marmots. For adventure seekers, the mountain station has orienteering maps featuring three family-friendly routes; trottibikes are available to race down the mountain afterwards.
Niederhorn

The picturesque fishing village of Iseltwald is situated on the shores of Lake Brienz, which at this time of year reflects the magnificent autumn colours. For a refreshment after your walk, why not stop off at one of the outstanding restaurants along the way. Duly fortified, set off again with the turquoise-blue waters on one side and the colourful trees on the other, all the way to the breathtaking Giessbach Falls, site of the eponymous Grand Hotel.
Hiking along Lake Brienz

It’s not just the building dating from 1706 that’s steeped in tradition, but also the menu at the Hotel Bären Wilderswil. The hotel’s kitchens are always working on developing these culinary traditions, which are presented and served as small works of art. The wine cellar, too, has lots of exciting vintages in store. It is also Switzerland’s first wine bank, enabling wine connoisseurs to lay down their finest bottles in ideal climate-controlled surroundings.

The Deltapark Vitalresort is situated right on the shores of Lake Thun, between two nature reserves, surrounded by a vast park landscape. Work out to the max at the 2,000 m² spa and sports facility before recovering in the sauna and whirlpool. Later on, the three restaurants have lots of culinary treats in store.
