The circa 10,000 km of hiking and trekking routes which run through the Region of Bern are the perfect way to get close to nature. Hikers are simply spoiled for choice, whether it is a hike through high-alpine areas or charming hilly countryside with views on Lake Thun, Lake Brienz or Lake Biel. A special highlight of the Bernese Oberland is the breathtaking panoramic views of the UNESCO World Heritage site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.

A perfect route for every taste and every age

You are free for a whole week? Off you go to the “Bärentrek” (bear trail). This hiking tour leads you past spectacular mountain passes, along imposing glaciers and through deep gorges while at the same time you are being watched by the three legendary Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks. Overnight stays in mountain huts add to the feeling of adventure.
